1. The University will promote the mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS into the core functions of the Institution, namely teaching, learning, research and community engagement. HIV/AIDS will be mainstreamed into all service provision, support structures and management activities. Staff and student development initiatives will be undertaken in collaboration with student/staff representative structures including Higher Education Access and Development Services (HEADS) and the Human Resources Department of the Institution.
  2. All individuals are potentially susceptible to HIV infection, and prevention is attainable through education programmes. The University will ensure that there are sustained HIV/AIDS education and prevention programmes across all campuses.
